Siobhan Craven-Robins on the Future of Weddings in 2022

Our industry engaged in a collective sigh of relief when the last of the restrictions were

dropped in July and weddings could return to ‘normal’.

Since then, weddings have largely returned to normal, albeit with all vendors supplying risk

assessments and testing prior to the wedding day.

Contingencies have never been more important. And this is how it will be from now on, we must take responsibility for ourselves and therefore protect the couple, their guests and our fellow suppliers.

A Plan B has long been part of wedding planning, but now it is essential for most suppliers to have someone who can step in if they test positive before their clients’ wedding day.

Risk Assessments are a courtesy as well as a guarantee that you will do everything within your working environment to ensure that you minimise the risk of infection.

They are new to some suppliers who haven’t had to furnish their clients or the venue with them prior to the pandemic, but they are simple and straightforward to complete and provide an assurance that you are behaving responsibly.

These two precautions in place, we can look forward to working freely and giving our clients

the best service we can provide to ensure their wedding day is a stress free and enjoyable

occasion.
