How Can We Help You Decide?

Updated: Aug 23

Understanding Your Hesitation

It's common to feel uncertain when making decisions about your education.

At The Event School London, we understand that choosing the right full-time programme is crucial for your future career.

Let’s address your concerns and show you why enrolling on our full-time courses are a smart choice.

Why Choose The Event School London?

Our courses are not just about learning event management; they're about shaping your career. Here are some compelling reasons to join us:

  • Industry-Experienced Faculty: Learn from professionals who bring real-world experience to the classroom. They’re here to provide you with the practical knowledge and skills that you’ll need to thrive in the event management industry. Visit their bio's here and learn more about the extensive events experience they'll be sharing with you. And they are not just industry experts - they are talented trainers and facilitators receiving consistently excellent feedback from their students. As well as positive feedback on their professionalism, skills and expertise, we are even prouder of the comments we receive on the pastoral care they provide. Students agree that they receive the best of care from our passionate, friendly, helpful, entertaining, engaging and often funny lecturers, tutors, coachers, mentors, managers and support staff.

  • Hands-On Learning: Our courses are designed to be interactive and practical.

    • Your class will plan and deliver a live event from start-to-finish.

    • All full-time students also take part in 60 hours of industry practice

    • And one-year students also undertake a four-week internship.

These type of opportunities give you the hands-on experience that event industry employers are looking for. You can also access multiple opportunities to gain additional hands-on experience as we regularly share volunteer (all students) and paid (UK students) work and placement opportunities from our industry network.

  • Location: We host our training in venues on London's Royal Victoria Docks, the beating heart of London's dynamic event scene. Our main training venue for the next academic year is the Novotel London Excel, just 150m from the main venues doorstep.

  • Exclusive London Events: Study in one of the world’s most vibrant event capitals. You'll have opportunities to engage with top-tier events, gaining invaluable insights and networking opportunities as we use the global city of London as our extended campus.

  • Industry Events: Attending events specifically for event industry professionals builds product knowledge and keeps you up to date with industry trends. These events are also the perfect networking opportunities - providing you with a black book of contacts that include London's leading planners, organisers and venues. And you'll be attending with a Lecturer or support staff so they can guide you on how to make the best of each event. Most of these events are event industry specific, although some are from fields such as hospitality, tourism, marketing or event digital transformation where we identify them as opportunities to add skills and product knowledge important to an event manager. Industry Events that we have taken our students to include:

    • International CONFEX

    • The Event Production Show

    • The Meeting Show

    • The National Outdoor Event Show

    • The London Christmas Party Event Show

    • The London Summer Party Event Show

    • MICE Book Expo

    • Event Tech Live

    • Event Sustainability Live

    • Cvent Connect Europe

    • World Travel Market

    • Taste of London

    • DTX Digital Transformation

    • The Marketing Show

    • Hospitality Tech Show

    • Hotel and Resort Innovation Expo

    • The International Food and Drink Event

    • The National Wedding Show

    • National Association of Wedding Professionals Networking Events

    • RSVP Luxury Party and Event Club Networking Events and Symposiums

  • Extensive Face-to-Face Training: We offer extensive 'in-real-life' classes and activities with timetabled classes in London from 10am-4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. With a one hour lunch break, that's a minimum 15 hours a week face-to-face teaching and learning. Six month courses are taught over two terms with 20 weeks of timetabled classes and one-year courses are over three terms with 30 weeks of timetabled classes. And... we also offer additional optional opportunities to attend live events, networking and other learning and practical activities on top of these classes. What to compare that with?

    • Many universities offer only 20-24 weeks of classes over a full academic year - and on average 12 hours per week ( and some of this may be online)

    • Some private competitors will promote their courses and classes as London, then may schedule all or many of them as virtual or online.

  • For Students Who Want More: While some training providers offer the temptation of minimum attendance, easy assessment, more online and less to do - we don't believe that works the best for students wanting to enter the event industry. The roles we train students for, whether as an event manager, wedding or party planner, sports event or major event manager, conference or exhibition organiser, venue manager or festivals and cultural events manager, are demanding. It's hard work and requires stamina, commitment, dedication and a wealth of skills and product knowledge. So while we ask more of our students, we also offer more. We appreciate that everyone has to make a course choice based on their available time and finances - but if you are willing and able to make that commitment to a full-time course with us, our team will commit to your learning and career goals with the same dedication that made us successful in the demanding world of events.

What’s Holding You Back?

  • Worried About Cost?: We offer affordable deposits to secure a course place. There are also payment plans for UK students and scholarships for a range of locations to make your education more affordable. UK students can earn while they learn and we can assist you in finding event specific agencies that provide flexible work that fits in with your studies (It's also why we timetable classes on Monday-Wednesday leaving you free for busy event shift days.) Ultimately, we are a private training provider and our students are self-funded. We are proud of offering incredible value for the prices we charge and hope that you will see it as an important investment in your future career.

  • Uncertain About Career Prospects?: Our graduates have gone on to work with leading event companies or as event manager in corporate oragnsiations worldwide. We are industry-focused and industry-led and our reason for being is to prepare sought after graduates for the event industry. Full-time courses offer assistance with career advice, CV preparation and job-search support - including a headshot from our school photographer for your LinkedIn Profile and support setting up your profile or professionalising it.

  • Concerned About Moving to London?: Our Accommodation Partner, Londonist is an expert in assisting you with every step of finding accommodation to adjusting to city life.

Accommodation will be one of your biggest living expenses so look for an option that will suit you, and those on a budget may want to consider Home-Stay options. When you are looking at accommodation, remember some of the budget options may be on the city outskirts, so check with TFL or another journey planner that you can access our location by public transport and how much it may cost. (Royal Victoria Docks are on the Elizabeth Line or DLR and the closest station is Custom House. If you are coming from overseas, make sure you check if you need a visa and understand what you can do while you are here. Useful websites for students looking to study in London include:

  • Not Sure Which Course to Choose?: The one-year Higher Diploma is ideal for school leavers or gap years while the 6-month Advanced Diplomas have been designed for career-changers or as post-grad alternative for graduates. UK and International students can apply for the 6-month courses, but one-year courses are suitable for UK students only.
